Summer Lovin’ the World Cup

So where to go to watch the World Cup?

Well USA beat Ghana! Finally! Anyway back to bars/restaurants… where to go completely depends on what type of crowd you want. Super packed with fair weather followers or shoulder to shoulder with die hard fans or chill laid back folks who are just happy to have an excuse to drink… well here’s my list for each type…

1. Super packed with fair weather followers:

Stout – 2 story bar located by MSG. Surely it’ll be one in and one out on USA game days, but it’ll still be a blast.

2. Shoulder to shoulder with die hard fans

The Blind Pig – On 14th st between 2nd and 3rd Ave. Definitely not a big space, but they have outdoor benches when the cheering becomes too much for you. I went here for a soccer game before and it was a great vibe, just a bit too packed for me.

3. Chill Laid Back and Hey! I have an excuse to drink tonight

Duke’s (Murray Hill) – Plenty of seating, open air, cheap beer specials and plenty of tv screens, this place is surely not shoulder to shoulder and more likely than not you’ll only converse with your own table (if you’d like), but you can have a couple of beers and enjoy the game. They have great sliders too. 37th st and 3rd Ave
